Traineeship Opportunity

Junior Casual Assistants

15 or 16 years of age

($7.96 and $9.54 per hour)

ACTTAB is seeking to recruit junior staff of 15 or 16 years of age interested in training and employment as Casual Customer Service Officer Assistants, to undertake Saturday work. The key responsibilities of the position are to maintain a clean and tidy presentation of the outlet, to print, update and display race information, pack away stock deliveries, and restock supplies in customer areas.  Duty at on-course outlets will also involve liaison with the ACTTAB Control Centre regarding dividends, scratchings, and other general race information. 

Successful applicants will be trained in respect of ACTTAB products and customer services, and will be required to operate in accordance with compliance requirements and other operating procedures.  Applicants will be expected to have a neat and tidy appearance and be able to maintain a high standard of customer service skills.  In the longer term, there may be vacancies available for customer sales, for persons who turn 18 years of age.

ACTTAB offers a range of generous employment conditions including fully paid training and on-the-job experience, provision of corporate wear, and reasonable flexibility in rostering arrangements, where possible, to help meet work and life balance priorities.  The hourly rate of pay incorporates a loading in lieu of leave.  Evidence of age will be required and applicants will be required to undergo an Australian Federal Police personal check.
